Nigerian's economy was infected with Ebola, HIV/AID by information minister

The administration of President Muhammad Buhari spent its entire first year planning how to make Nigeria a better country, information minister Lai Mohammed has said.

Speaking during talks with Kano state governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, ahead of nationwide townhall meeting to hole in Kano, the information minister said Buhari administration’s first one year was spent blocking leakages to stop stealing of public funds.
"Those [who] served under the past government have stolen so much money. They were richer than government. We came into government when the country was infected with all sorts of diseases,” he said.
"Nigerian's economy was infected with Ebola, HIV/AIDS and all sorts of diseases by some corrupt people. But FG is working very hard to fix the country and gradually things have started taking shape."
The townhall meeting, which started in Lagos, is being held to showcase Buhari administration’s work.
"We have realised that our messages are not getting to the people especually the poor, hence, we introduced the town hall meeting," he said.
Responding, Kani State Governor, Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, said, "Without adequate communication many activities of government would perish, rumour mongers would achieve their aims and suspicious and ignorance will continue to affect governance negatively."
He pointed out that the meeting was a two-way traffic where government will tell people its policies and plans, while people in return will tell government their aspirations and problems.
